Battleborn originally released in May of 2016, the same month and year as popular hero shooter Overwatch, which in direct comparison already has tens of millions of players compared to Battleborn’s player base which is somewhere in the low thousands. Nintendo announced a list of new ways to market themselves in the near future. Among the list of goals, applications for mobile and PC are causing the biggest noise. One of the first announcements isn’t much of a new practice, even for Nintendo. Players can purchase Nintendo software through a variety of platforms including mobile and PC. There’s a new “points system” replacing the 2015 “end-of-life’d” model. The refreshed system rewards consumers with points for buying and playing software which are later spent on goodies.
